The User Segment of GPS is consisted with the GPS receiver and the user community. SV's signals are converted into velocity, position and time estimates by the GPS receivers. For this process, four satellites are needed to operate the four dimensionality of X, Z, Y time and position. The receivers of GPS are utilized for navigation, such as; aircrafts, ships, ground vehicle and for hand carrying by individuals.
Accurate positioning is probably utilized for receivers of GPS at associated locations and provides accuracy and relevant data of positioning for distant receivers. Plate tectonic, surveying, and geodetic control studies are some of the examples.
Frequency dissemination and time, which is situated on the exact clocks on board the SVs and determined by the monitoring stations, is considered as another usage for GPS. Telecommunications facilities, laboratory standards, and astronomical observatories, can be fixed to signals of exact time or determined to the absolute frequencies by GPS's receivers main functions. To measure atmospheric parameters, research projects have been used by GPS signals.
The equipment and tool of the military personnel and civilians, who receive GPS signals, are included in the User Segment. The User segment has been integrated into fighters, bombers, tankers, helicopters, ships, submarines, tanks and jeeps.
