This is the data communication mode in which data is sent faster than usual. There are a number of techniques for implementing burst modes. In a data bus, for example, a burst mode is usually implemented by allowing a device to seize control of the bus and not permitting other devices to interrupt. In RAM, burst modes are implemented by mechanically fetching the next recall contents before they are requested.
This is basically the same technique used by disk caches. The one feature that all burst modes have in common is that they are provisional and untenable. They permit more rapidly data transport rates than usual, but only for a specific time and only under special conditions
The burst mode is the ability to take a number of pictures in quick succession. The number of frames that can be shot is denoted by frames per second and the number of seconds that the camera is able to operate for in this manner. These are the advanced features in the new age digital cameras. Most of the digital cameras posses burst mode options. It is also otherwise called as, continuous shooting mode. This takes a sequence of images in rapid succession. While the shutter button is fully held down, the camera shoots continuously. First the images are stored in camera’s buffer then it is automatically saved into memory card or the camera's built-in memory.
Basically the burst mode is helpful for taking photos of fast moving subjects. In this case it is difficult to judge the correct timing to get a good photo, because shots are taken in succession. Then one can select the best one for use. Pre-focusing is most important this while shooting a fast moving object. The digital cameras differ from one another in the way of speed at which it is recorded and the number of pictures taken. Write speed can also vary according to the image resolution and compression settings you select. Some digital cameras take a predetermined number of photos in burst mode. When the amount is unlimited, the actual number of images you capture is based on the capacity of the memory card. Some cameras have more than one burst mode option such as Continuous Low, Continuous High and Ultra High.
