Night vision is the process of seeing at night by the devices. It is not the process of intensifying light to see the objects at night. But it is the process to capture images by amplifying the existing light.
Night vision equipments are devices that are used to view objects at night. Some of the devices are: night vision camera, night vision binocular and night vision goggles etc. these equipments are manufactured by different manufactures. Different systems have different purpose. Functionalities also vary form systems to systems.
All the night vision products work in same manner. They collect the light through the objective lens and amplify that. Then it is focused on the image intensifier. A photocathode is present inside the intensifier. It is exited with falling of light. It converts the photon energy into electrons. These electrons accelerate across an electrostatic field inside the intensifier and strike a phosphor screen (like a green monochrome TV screen) which emits an image that you can see. It is the acceleration of electrons, which provides gain and enhances the image.
