It is a collection of leaves, parchment, paper or other material which is bound together along one edge within covers. It is also a literary work or a main division of such a work. A book which is produced in an electronic form is known as e-book.
In library and information science, a book is referred to as monograph in order to distinguish it from serial publications such as journals, magazines or newspapers. They are made cheaply available as they are not meant for sale.
A book might be studied by students in the form of a book report. It might be even covered by a professional writer as a book review in order to introduce a new book.
